I’m just a Midwest gal who loves to cook and eat and after years in the corporate world took a leap into being a food entrepreneur. I’m not gonna lie…I love comfort foods like macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, bacon, cheese, chili, and pizza. Don’t judge.  That being said, I’m passionate about cooking from scratch with fresh ingredients (fresh vegetables and fruits and ethical meats) and incorporating those healthier options into my meals as often as I can.  I like taking recipes that utilize canned soups and seasoning packets and revising them to a fresher from-scratch version. I’ve used canned soups and I still use them sometimes…I mean, they’ve been ingrained in us since childhood. But I figure every meal I choose to make without a ton of processed food or inspire someone else to make is a step in the right direction. I’m also passionate about buying local as often as I can as it supports the local economy and promotes sustainability. Farmer’s markets are one of my favorite places in the whole wide world. *smile*
I’m also the owner of a casserole delivery business in Columbus, Ohio called Retro Dinner Diva (www.retrodinnerdiva.com) where I make from-scratch, oven ready casseroles with fresh ingredients and deliver them. I like to think of myself as the “queen of casseroles without the cream of crap”.  It’s comfort food that people can feel good about. I also happen to love wearing aprons, high heels, pearls, and lipgloss. Yes, I’m pretty sure I would have completely rocked as a 1950’s housewife. My hope is that you will salivate, learn something new, giggle, and/or be inspired in some way.

  3. I didnt know you had this till you posted it on facebook the other day. I told Adam I wanted to be your best friend so I could cook and bake as good as you. lol. I get overwhelmed when it comes to cooking. Especially if its something I have have never made before. My heart breaks when I make something and it turns out crappy. But I think I am going to start trying out some of your recipes!

    • Awwwesome! Yes, I think when I post my recipes to Facebook most people think I’m just posting recipes from someone else’s blog but surprise, it’s me! 🙂 I’m working on a Facebook Fan Page. I hope you like the recipes. I loved cooking and believe me, I’ve made many crappy recipes over the years but I think the more you cook the more you can look at a recipe and know how to tweak it to fit your taste, etc.
